As mentioned the early 31's have a lower deck, due to the smaller tank. Standing in the stern of my 62 31, ones feet are approx. 3" above the water line. Installing a pair of "hinged" scuppers [with a wedge so that when water rises above them they close, not open],keeps feet dry, when drifting. This low position to the water makes the boat unbeatable in fishing rough water, its just geometry.
