Most mechanics are just uneducated about engines and support and fall for some used car salesman in boat shoes ruse about value. Especially when they buy the booshat yanmar puts out re:hp ratings and dyno-testing not being even CLOSE to the same numbers. Bottom line is simple, bruce-yanmar has been smoke and mirrors for years and people are starting to figure it out. I know it's tough when a belief system is shattered, but as an adult, you'll just have to deal with it. The older Volvo technology was not so great-serviceable, but not great, so they did what any intelligent company would do; they adjusted and got better, leaving others in their wake. Good luck with the D-series, they are PROVING to be fantastic engines...
