Guys:
I have a B28 with outboards that is great. My fuel consumption is not much different than my other outboard powered boats, except for having to feed two moderate sized outboards. The big advantage is that I can get the engines out of the brine and not have a any marine growth on the lower unit while it is sitting at my dock. The short period of 1982 and 1983 saw a limited number of factory manufactured outboards. These boats were fit with sea drives and had considerable greater effeciencies than most give credit. On my boat the sea drives have been replaced with an Armstrong bracket and then two 200 hp outboards. The boat will turn on a dime, much like a center council unit and cruises at 28 knots and WOT approaches 35 knots with the canvas up on the bridge, remove the canvas and we get a bit more. Fuel consumption at 3500 rpm, 28 knots, is 8.6 gph/engine and at 5600 rpm/ WOT it is about 21 gph. My fuel capacity is 170 main tank and 75 in forward tank. I carry 50 gallons of fresh water and have a 50 gallon holding tank under the deck of the house.
