Just talked to Richard Kidd and got some more information on the history of the B26.
The B26 was to be the replacement of the 25. It was designed to be small enough to be placed on a trailer unlike it's big sister the B28. (which by the way, I read the thickness of glass between the models are almost identical with any descrepancies being in favor of the 28).
The model 106 documentation I have should be for the 6th boat to come out for the 1975 production. The production for a model year started in August of 74 which is the factory model 1975 year beginning. The models made were 75, 76 and 77.
Production picked up again in about 81 and ended in 83. Only Outboards and inboards were made, no stern drives. Richard indicated that the outboards were hand made by taking the inboard hulls and cutting / refitting them for outboards (Some had OMC Sea Drives).
The outboard models were a pain because of the "by hand" work that had to be done. This, Richard said, lead to the end of that model. Richard also said that production may have gone much longer if they would have stayed stern drives. (I interprit this as early Outboards being high on fuel consumption and expensive).
Some of the details were spotty to Richard, he started there in 72' and has seen many a boat go out from there.
